Seven Mills Primary School

Providing additional classroom accommodation as well as parent/community spaces plus a reimagining and configuring of the school playground areas.

The project provides an annexe accommodation building for teaching and community uses. The designs respond directly to these briefing elements, focussing on the home aspect of the project to make pupils, staff and parents all feel as comfortable as possible within the newly created building.

The scheme also rationalises external play areas with new storage and landscaping. A new canopy structure provides much needed shade and shelter to the playground with its form responding directly to the new red brick building. It also looks to connect as lightly as possible to the ground surface through the use of slender, white steel columns.
